1 Apologies for absence

Apologies were received from John Housley and Paul Garner.

2 Minutes of the last meeting – AGM

These were read and agreed as an accurate record.

3 Matters arising from minutes/ratification

An official welcome was given to the new CDM Gareth Davies and a thanks to the outgoing Dale Kerruish with best wishes for his future career.

4 Reports

• Chair

Sarah gave an account of the season, views of where she felt Ladies cricket was placed in SY and hopes for the forthcoming season.  Thanks were given to Steph and Pauline for support and advice/umpiring and just everything!  Recognition also given to Mark T and Lynfor the work he has been doing at the Aston coaching session which is feeding into the D Centre.

• Treasurer – Statement of Accounts

Pauline read through current accounts which were accepted and approved by the meeting.  Some concerns expressed re the withdrawal of YCB funds for coach support and the potential effects on the Development Centre.  To be discussed at the next meeting.

• Secretary

Andy gave an overview of all correspondence received since the previous meeting and recent correspondence with Howard Clayton re the establishment of the SY Development Centre.

Andy also raised the possibility through John Housley/Pat/ BJ League of some friendlies against boys teams where there were blank fixtures to gibe the girls more games and practice ahead of District cricket.

5 Election of Officers

All elected officials for 2008 were re-elected, with Gareth replacing Dale as Vice-Chair.
 
• Team Managers/Coaches 11s, 13s, 15s.

U’11’s Sarah Houghton, U/15’s Mark Tordoff.

A vacancy exists for an U/13 Coach/Manager.  Offers of support were gratefully received from Laura Payling and Heather Hale.  Would Faye Dale be available?

6 YCB Development Centre

This was discussed in detail. It will be run by Paul as Director with Sarah as support.  Mark and Andy will help out and it is hoped that Mark Beckles Wilson will also be available.  Gareth may also be able to help as he nets just before the sessions. Details and dates were given out.

Andy gave details of the received replies and the information sent to H.C.  Agreed to hold next meeting after the last session.

7 District Cricket 2008 –reflections on the season/results/looking forward to 2009

Results: U/11 P5 W1
              U/13 P2 W0
              U/15 P3 W1

West continue to be very strong – and it is felt that with current structures both the North and West have more girls from which to draw.

8 Any Other Business

Noted that Steve Archer is now the YCB CDM lead for Women’s cricket.
